Birmingham's thought leaders set to share in series of webinars

Three more webinars set for Spring / Summer 2021 by some of the city’s leading creative, media and marketing gurus.

The webinars have been planned for the forthcoming months to help guide the creative industries in and around Birmingham through and out of the pandemic.

From powering up your content creation to looking at why video content is a necessity not a luxury, and the future of TV, the Birmingham Publicity Association has added to its programme of thought leadership webinars this year.

Following on from January’s round table discussion with a leading panel from the publishing, marketing, PR and creative industries, a further catalogue of ‘lunch and learn’ sessions have been set for the coming months.

Taking the stand on Wednesday, April 21 at 1pm, will be Tara Tomes from EAST Village. She will be joined by her account director Hattie D’Souza, in discussing the importance of powering up your content and PR, and boost your own reputation.

In May, Jake Barrett and Steve Price from Barrett Film Co will be discussing video and why it is no longer a marketing luxury and giving a peek into the industry - and explaining why we should get our cameras rolling. This event will be taking place on Wednesday, May 12 between 2 - 3 pm.

The final discussion will be held on Tuesday, May 25 from noon, in conjunction with Sky Media, and will be discussing the future of TV.

Mark McDonagh, chair of the BPA said: “Our first thought leadership talk in January was really well attended by not just BPA members but representatives from across our industry and from all across the Midlands.

“As we prepare to lift ourselves out of the lockdown and go back to some kind of ‘normal’, it’s really important that we have a clear overview of where our industry is heading and make sure our training and knowledge is very much at the front of our businesses.

“We really hope these sessions, which are open to everyone who is a member of the BPA and beyond, will help us all feel much more of a community again and start to give us a peek back into life going forward into 2021,” he added.

Mark added that the BPA hoped live networking events would be resuming as soon as government guidelines allowed, and the group were looking forward to announcing a very grand venue in Birmingham being secured for the popular Christmas lunch on the first Friday in December. More details on this to follow soon.
