Sharpen your LinkedIn Skills with a free Training Workshop
Birmingham Publicity Association to host free morning member event – Wednesday 6th March
Marketeers in Birmingham wanting to sharpen their skills on LinkedIn and attract new business are being offered free spaces on a training course - but spaces are limited.
Members of the Birmingham Publicity Association are being given the chance to take part in the free course being held next month in the city centre.
There are just 20 free spaces available to members, which are valued at £90 each, and guests will be treated to a three hour business training session on the online forum LinkedIn.
The workshop will be hosted by Debra Sharron, managing director of Media Sales Training – a specialist agency which has been delivering practical and effective programmes for media owners and commercial teams for over 15 years.
Debra’s clients include The Guardian, News UK, First Radio Sales, Condé Nast, Outdoor Plus and UBM, and the training will guide guests into fully understanding how to use the free LinkedIn platform for new business prospecting and networking.
Natalie Pejovic, Vice Chair of the Birmingham Publicity Association, said: “It’s not often that we host an event like this, and for 2019 we will be focusing on developing the knowledge of our members alongside our usual networking events and raising thousands of pounds for charity.
“This will be the first of a number of skills based activities which will run alongside our social events calendar this year. We feel there is a real need for us all to get fully up-to-speed with LinkedIn as it is such an incredible tool which is at our fingertips, and we know Debra’s advice will be invaluable to us all. So don’t forget to bring your laptops and LinkedIn passwords on the morning too,” she said.
The event will be held on Wednesday, 6th March at Mediacom on Colmore Row from 9am until noon.
With just 20 spaces up for grabs, tickets will be on a first come, first serve basis, and must be pre-registered through the BPA website. Only two people per company are also asked to attend the course, so as many businesses in the city can benefit. There will also be a charge for any non-attendance and cancellations can only be made up to 48 hours before the event.
The Birmingham Publicity Association aims to unite those working in the creative industries across the West Midlands and is a great way to network and have fun at the same time. The BPA has existed since the 1930s, supporting the media and creative industries in the region, while raising money for key charities that its members wish to support. Its members include global organisations to sole traders, graduate trainees right up to CEOs and MDs, media owners and agencies, advertising and marketing agencies, digital agencies, PR agencies and freelancers.
Natalie added: “If you aren’t able to get a space on this course, please do keep an eye on this space for our host of other events which will be arriving in 2019.”
